The Lost Civilization of Claymora

Under the sands of the Morabian desert, lies the ruins of an ancient civilization unknown to the people of Claymora. From the relics that have been recovered in such ruins, scholars were able to concur that this civilization wielded purely the power of Ethereal Energy unlike most modern societies of today who relies on the readily Mana particles from the Grand Sage Tree and it's Myrrh.

The common theory is that the unreliability if Ethereal energy made it impossible to keep as a sustainable power source and eventually they were overtaken by the creatures of the deserts or by other nations.

Nothing on the surface of Claymora holds records of this civilization, only the ruins beneath are what remains of it's existence.

Avatar of Sin, Great Beast or Extinct Race?!

Statues of what seems to be a Feathered hound is littered across the ancient ruins. It is unclear whether this figure is a deity that this ancient civilization worships or if it is what remains of this ancient civilization instead.

Religious Theorists

The theories about the Feathered Hound has been gaining popularity among the masses that they've made a cult out of it. It's bad enough that they're spreading baseless rumors about an ancient civilization, but now they're actually making trips into the ruins.

Those ruins are a treacherous place, not all personnel that have gone down there have made it out alive. Traps, moving walls and corridors are scattered all over the place. Now there are even sightings of a probable living feathered hound still in there.

I fear that the death toll are still to rise in the course of the next expeditions.
